The Importance Of Friendship

Hello! This week I celebrated my birthday. Last night a group of my friends came together to celebrate with me, and today my heart is overflowing with love! I am feeling extremely blessed and grateful for the beautiful people who surround me.
The gathering was held at the seaside home of one my beautiful women friends. Her space is luxurious and inviting, with the burbling of the outside fountain in the background and the warm glow of the fireplace. My friends brought delicious vegetarian food to share; colourful salads, roasted yams, spelt cookies with ginger and chocolate chips, silky pears fresh from the tree and a decadent homemade birthday cake topped with raspberry sauce. We drank herbal teas and peach spritzers. We talked and laughed and asked questions of the 'angel board'. I felt honoured and in awe of the powerful and dynamic energy in the room.
And, towards the end of the gathering, I found myself asking why we don't have these gatherings more often, when they are so wonderfully nurturing for the soul. These women friends remind me of who I truly am and what I am capable of. They reflect to me my deepest Truth and inspire me to live my passions and embrace my dreams. These friendships are part of who I am today.
One of my Cafe regulars gave me a book of quotes. I like this one on friendship:
"Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light."
- Albert Schweitzer
A heartfelt thank-you to the many friends who love and support me.
