I Smile At The World

It has been proven that it takes ten times more energy to frown than to smile. Think how much happier the world would be if each of us made an effort to smile at others more often? A simple gesture, offered with no expectation, wanting nothing in return. It feels good to smile, not just with the lips but with the eyes, the heart, a smile from the inside. And the more often one does it, then gradually it begins to happen with no thought, no effort.

Make a conscious effort to smile today, from the inside. Notice how you feel.

I am away for the weekend, so I have included several days in this one post. Scroll down for each day.

I PRAISE OTHERS

It often seems that true praise is a rare commodity in our world. Often it's the negative we speak of more regularly, when we emphasize what others don't do or what they do wrong. And when life is calm and smooth, perhaps nothing is said at all. This is the time to offer praise and to let the other know how much they are appreciated.

If you notice yourself offering a negative statement to another today, make an effort to offer statements of abundance and praise instead.

I SEND LOVE TO THOSE WHO SUFFER

One does not have to venture far to witness the suffering in our world. On our streets are people without shelter and proper food. Poverty, illness, war and injustice are realities on this planet, even with our modern technology and medical advances. It does not seem possible, yet millions die while many others turn away or claim to be powerless in the face of a global catastrophe. Our world needs love. It starts with YOU.

At some point during your day, perhaps in the morning or before sleep, find a way to send love to those who are suffering. You may wish to do a prayer or visualization. Whatever feels right for you.
