Beginning
I came across this reading, in the book "365 Tao", and thought it applied to today:
"This is the moment of embarking.
All auspicious signs are in place.
In the beginning, all things are hopeful. We prepare ourselves to start anew. Though we may be intent on the magnificent journey ahead, all things are contained in this first moment: our optimism, our faith, our resolution, our innocence.
In order to start, we must make a decision. This decision is a committment to daily self-cultivation. We must make a strong connection to our inner selves. Outside matters are superfluous. Alone and naked, we negotiate life's travails. Therefore, we alone must make something of ourselves, transforming ourselves into the instruments for experiencing the deepest spiritual essence of life.
Once we make our decision, all things will come to us. Auspicious signs are not a superstition, but a confirmation. They are a response. It is said that if one chooses to pray to a rock with enough devotion, even that rock will come alive. In the same way, once we choose to commit ourselves to spiritual practice, even the mountains and valleys will reverberate to the sound of our purpose."

I Am A Courageous Person
Just living each day requires courage and faith. To get up and go out into the world, not knowing what the hours ahead will hold, not even knowing if we will live or die. This is not easy! Yet, we are here, and we each find our own way to move forward and create our lives, moment to moment. Some appear to struggle more than others, but we all have challenges. If we can accept that it takes tremendous courage to conquer obstacles we may face each day, we can learn to have compassion for ourselves and give thanks for our strength.
Do you consider yourself a courageous person? Take a moment to reflect on some of the obstacles you faced in the year just passed. How did you find the courage and strength to see your way through? Can you have compassion for yourself and appreciate your fortitude?

It takes courage and a strong faith to be who we are! Courage is required to create an authentic life that is an expression of our deepest, heartfelt Truth. In a world where we are taught that showing fear or emotion is a sign of weakness, we may struggle to remain true to ourselves. What if what we say upsets another? What if facing a fear means changing a part of our lives that isn't working? A warrior is one who has the courage to stand up for what he believes in regardless of what others may think. A warrior calls on her inner strength during times of adversity and stands centered and balanced. Stepping out of a comfort zone is not always easy, but growth cannot happen without the willingness to change. We have probably all experienced what we perceive as failure. The courage is in the trying. Why not let life be an adventure!
